  1. I recently had an interview with Hive Health for an account executive role.
During my interview, I was asked to choose one of two particular career paths that may suit me, a question that caught me off-guard: ‘where do you see yourself in-terms of creativity, working with agency colleagues to plan and implement the most effective advertising for a client, or do you see yourself being the one executing the advertising solution and bringing it to life?’ I think the interviewer could either read my mind, or something about my passion for creative flare was screaming out at this lady. I was now in a state of relief, it was clear, I am more creatively minded, everyone has ideas, but I want to put flesh on these ideas and bring them to life.

I was pleasantly surprised about the interview experience. The interviewer was full of energy, she was honest, and interested in my career goals and how I could use my skills to develop within the healthcare communications industry. The general support I felt during the interview was enough for me to believe that Hive Health are an exciting, ambitious agency, and an agency where I could see my career developing quite well.

Being honest about my ambition to work in a creative team as oppose to an account handling role was starting to give me cotton mouth during the interview; Oh gosh, I ruined my chances getting the job. However, when one door closes, a window opens….

We probably spend two-thirds of our lives working, so I would say that it’s important to like a job and make the most of it in order to be successful. I don’t want to see a job as a means to an end; I want to bounce out of bed each morning with energy, knowing that despite subjecting myself to stomach churning odours on the London tube, that I’m off to produce creative work for a buzzing agency.
